My Site has a New Look!

I’ve ignored my site for far too long. There were some things that I wanted to change about it and one of the major changes was my theme. The one I had been using was feeling “heavy.” Everything took a long time to load, and there were some things that were broken. Sometimes my header was royal blue (perfect to contrast my gold logo) and other times, it was white. White isn’t such a good contrast for gold.

A new theme for my site

So, I tried a promising theme that had good reviews. Unfortunately, I would have to pay for the pro version of the theme editor is you want the amazing look that was advertised. So I did something really radical and decided to use one of WordPress’s free themes, called BlogGrid. It had good reviews and was basic-The good basic, not the bad basic.

I wonder if it is all of the chaos in the news, in politics, with COVID, etc. that has me longing for simplicity. Everything is so complicated now, even just going to the store. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons I was longing for this change on my site.

With change comes growing pains.

I am sure some things have fallen through the cracks. You may find a broken link or something that is visually “off.” If you are the kind of person that likes to let people know about a problem on their site, I welcome it. Feel free to contact me about anything.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy exploring my site! I would love to hear your comments!

  1. I love it! I’ve felt the itch to revamp my site too. You motivate me to consider doing it soon. Hope you and yours are well.

  2. Sometimes you just need a refresh. Nothing wrong with that. It seems like many websites are going for a simpler look lately, to mixed results. The site looks good, though.
